More than 130 cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and fire apparatus rolled down Roscoe Blvd in West Hills on their way to the 2011 edition of the LAFD car show. Entrants were from the local community as well as active and retired fire department members from several different departments.
Volunteers from the LAFD, the CERT team, and Cadet Posts 106 and 87 were on hand to help with turning a parking lot into a car show and then back into a parking lot all in just a few hours. Other car show workers directed the onslaught of show vehicles through the check-in station and then to their parking location.
Vendors set up booths and the Quest Team (Firefighter’s Quest for Burn Survivors) set up their display and ran the charity raffle. The MOAB Bar B Q (from UFLAC) was put into action early in the day cooking tri-tip, chicken and hot dogs.
Light Force 105 was on hand to perform vehicle extrication drills for the car show participants and spectators to watch. Next to them was Engine 106 showing off their equipment as well. Read more…
