Twice A Citizen

In honor of Veteran’s Day and the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, the Los Angeles Fire Department and LAFRA proudly recognize our LAFD members who have served both the City of Los Angeles and our country during our nation’s call to military service. Ten years have challenged our nation’s finest to answer the call - both here at home and abroad - to accomplish the mission of a military deployed with honor, courage, and dedication.
Winston Churchill first coined the accolade `twice a citizen’ as a measure of the value of military reservists who served the national interest in both civilian and military capacities. Our very own LAFD members have served proudly while wearing our Department’s uniform and our nation’s colors; truly distinguishing themselves as “Twice a Citizen.”
The LAFD and LAFRA have a proud history of supporting the Active Duty, Guard and Reserve of our nation’s military. Read more…
