Eric Shepherd Eulogy

      On July 29th, 2011, Eric Dubose Shepherd was laid to rest in a memorial befitting his life of service. Hundreds of sworn personnel, active and retired military personnel, friends, and family gathered to pay their respects to a life cut tragically short on July 18th - more importantly, they gathered to celebrate his life. It was an impressive ceremony, complete with the LAFD honor guard, a helicopter flyover, moving speeches and beautiful songs. The American Flag was flown from crossed aerials at the memorial site and along the processional route by the LA County Fire Department, Compton Fire Department, and the OCFA. Members of the U.S. Air Force performed a flag folding ceremony in remembrance of Eric’s service to his country. Eric’s family beamed with pride, realizing just how much their son had impacted the people in his life and the communities he served. Read more…
